Spitfire Action
Posted By: MightyMike, 12-16-2008, 07:49 AM

This Spitfire is taking off, the smoke in the background is from a bombing demonstration at the Ottawa Airshow... of course there weren't any real bombs just pyrotechnics

Another wonderful shot Mike, but than we expect nothing less from you. :-) On my recent trip I had a chance to visit the air-museum on the Greenwood Base in NS, they had a Spitfire on display and it struck me as to how small that aircraft really is.

Great shot Mike! Heinrich - there is a Spitfire at the museum in Hamilton and yes they are tiny. You had to be tiny to fit in one as well. Very small cockpit.

Beautiful shot, what is it: Mk XIVE or even later Spitfire?
I wish I could go on one of the UKs plane shows, maybe next summer.
Anyway, great capture...

A cracking shot of such a beautiful machine! I would not want to be in the gunsights of one of those! Amongst the finest fightercraft of it's time.

Thanks Mike, I think the WWII fighter craft were some of the most interesting aircraft ever. Love them all.

The German Me-109 was even worse...
