K3 + DA 12-24 mm f/4 AL @ 12 mm FL. You exit Interstate-10 at the Waterman Avenue interchange just East of Interstate-215, then head North. Waterman becomes US Route 118 and you reach the "Rim of the World", just before getting to Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear Lake in the mountains. It was the wild yellow flowers that drew my attention. You can clearly see the smog layer over the Los Angeles Basin in the distance.

There was a really interesting forested campground not far away. You can sleep calmy in a pine forest almost in the middle of the Los Angeles Metropolitan area.
