When you enter Amboy City limits, you can see this old Ford tractor in its final resting place. K3 + DA* 60-250 mm f/4 zoom, 250 mm FL @ f/8.

Looks to be an early to mid fifties style. Looks good for its age.

I spotted this truck in 2014 but stopped to photograph it only in 2018. In the Southwest, you see old decommissioned vehicles with bodies in perfect condition everywhere, thanks to Desert dryness.

Regards

Nice catch of a very old Ford truck. Not far from my place, is an old, shut down garden cdentre. Behind the chain link fence is a 1954 Mercury M 750 'Big Job' truck, with a large box mounted on the frame.

Richard, as you probably know, being a fellow Canadian, the Ford motor company of Canada for many years built Canadian market only, Mercury trucks. The Mercury trucks were the same as their Ford twins, with only trim differences.

My family had a business, back in the 1960's and when they needed a work truck, they bought a new 1968 Mercury M 250 (3/4 ton) pickup...with the Ford 300 cube inline six and three on the tree manual transmission.

Ha Ha ! My first ever new vehicle was a 1976 Ford F-100 pickup with an inline 300 c.i.d. 6-cylinder engine and a three speed manual. Its top speed was 78 miles per hour and it took a long time to reach that speed. I kept it for only a few months and exchanged it for a 1977 F-150 with a 351 Cleveland big-block V8 and automatic transmission : top-speed 110 mph (I was young at the time, you know how young men can be stupid, don't you).

Very Best Regards

P.S. My family ran a dairy farm when I was a kid and the "general merchant" (a good friend of my dad) drove this old-style Studebaker pickup. It's been a long time since I saw one still running.
