The "Evil Carrot Predator" living in my backyard ... · **1 Like**

In French, they call this animal a "siffleux" (whistler). It eats plants, notably vegetables in my neighbor's gardens . There is a cat that often watches him but it is too big to be hunted.

Yes very nasty in a garden!! We call them “whistle pigs” here!

He spends the winter hidden under my backyard shed. He looks fat and healthy, wary of anything that moves. Knowing this, I managed to remain totally motionless to take this picture. As soon as he heard the sound of the shutter, he ran away to his hiding spot. I give him some apples now and then ...
