Pentax DFA 15-30 Meets BMW M3
Lens: DFA 15-30/2.8 Camera: K-1 Photo Location: Brazosport College
Posted By: Sailor, 05-16-2022, 07:19 AM

Despite the fact that my DFA 15-30 weighs about as much as my first Miata, I really like using this lens (until my back gives out) owing to the unusual distortions wide angle can produce along with a rendering (which I can't put into words) that I enjoy a great deal. Normally, I don't turn to my 15-30 for shooting automobiles, but yesterday I tried some shots with my new, freshly waxed and pristinely clean BMW M3 Competition. Here are some examples.

Looks like it was the right lens for the job. Pretty glamour shots. Enjoy.

You really did use that lens to good effect with that car. Really stands that car out from the "competition".
(Uhhh. Does that lens also have a horizontal component that needs to be set? Or is the ground there in that part of the world tilted?)
I really like the first shot with the sky doing the same thing to the light in blue that the car is doing to the light in green.
Angky.

Thanks very much, Angky! Also, it's the photographer who's horizontal component needs resetting.
