Bear Corn/American Cancer Root

Came across this interesting plant while hiking along my favorite creek trail. Bear Corn is a parasitic plant that lives off of Oak roots without harming them.The seed spends it's first 4 years underground establishing root links with the parent tree, the sends up the shoots you see here. each of those white tips will turn into a tubular white flower during the summer. Pentax K3mk3/Vivitar 50mm f1.7 MC.
