Heron

My wife spotted this bird long before I did. We called her Eagle eyes for years until she got glasses. She still sees better than I do.

It is a very nice shot with the heron isolated against the green trees in the background. It must have just shaken or preened because there is a lot of feather debris floating around.

GBH is among my favorite birds.

My wife also seems to be better at spotting critters than me

Kudos to your wife for spotting this bird. You couldn't have asked for a better setting for the image. Well isolated from the background and captured with great details. Looking at your Flickr post I could even see a bee flying around below the bird. Very nice shot. It is not too abstract however.

Lol. I agree. The abstract tag was an accident.

Fixed it! I had never looked but if you switch from mobile to full site and edit in advanced mode the category can be swapped.
