French tourists admiring the Merced River in Yosemite Nat'l Park, CALIFORNIA.
Lens: DA 16-45 mm f/4 AL Camera: Pentax K5 Photo Location: California ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/125s Aperture: F9

I was in awe admiring and photographing the Merced River near Yosemite Falls. French tourists saw me taking pictures of the watercourse and came near to admire the river themselves. I don't think they would have given the river a second glance if I hadn't been taking pictures myself in my usual "PHOTO FRENZY" (I become all excited and sweaty when I see something as beautiful as the Merced River). K5 + DA 16-45 mm f/4 AL @ 16 mm FL and f/9.

No matter which way you turn and look, you will see beauty in Yosemite. This is a nice candid capture of tourists taking in the scenery.

Nice high contrast shot. Glad you gave them the impetus to look.

National Parks attract people mostly from Europe and Asia. We see French, German and Dutch people everywhere, as well as Chinese and Japanese groups of tourists. These Parks are sure worth the trouble to get there.

I can recall a very early memory I have of standing on, I think, that same bridge and seeing the water really full of trout just holding themselves stationary in the water flowing past them. I was fascinated as a little kid in the 1950s.

I remember seeing huge bass loafing quietly behind the weir of Hoover Dam in 1980, when Lake Mead was overflowing. I took pictures of them with my Minolta film camera and MD 50-135 mm f/3.5 zoom. I'm sure there must still be fish high up in the Sierra Nevada watercourses.

Regards
