Sitting Still for Just A Moment
Lens: Irix 150mm f2.8 macro Camera: K-5 Photo Location: Backyard ISO: 4000 Shutter Speed: 1/2000s Aperture: F8

These little bees are really difficult to photograph. They buzz around very quickly, and they spend only a few short seconds at each bloom. However, they provide good practice for manual focusing.

I wouldn't be quick enough to manual focus that bee. Details on that bee are excellent and the colors are spot on. Well done.

Very excellent capture of that bee, manually focused or not!
Good image of the bee, the two flowers he's robbing, and also of the brown flower he killed yesterday.
Glad you stuck with it to keep on that focus until you got it nailed.
Angky.

Thanks so much EM! They are interesting bees, they spent half their time buzzing me and checking me out.

Thanks Mike! I am getting good practice with the Irix 150. I finally figured out to just focus on an area and wait for a bee to come into range. That way the adjustments are minimal.
