Hiking with the 6x7 is a nice workout.

Nice shot for the workout though. I remember the landscape around Tucson very well.

Definitely tanned. Good shot of the terrain.

Wow! I recall that very spot so clearly from when I once fought a wildfire there (one of a few that had been set by some arsonist).
I remember the rust-orange retardant dump on the flank of the third mountain from the far end.
It looks tanned now, but not as brushy as it used to look--makes fire control easier.
Keep on carrying that 6x7! (I cannot carry mine very far anymore.)
Love your image!
Angky.

Hopefully this summer season will be better. Two years ago we got a huge fire. I will miss this place for sure but I'm planning to visit it in the future.

Maybe bring a tripod next time. I used my Pentax 67 II + P67 late 55 mm f/4 in vertical position @ f/16, always using some foreground element as my picture anchor. This way you get amazingly detailed landscape pictures with a foreground, middle ground and background all integrated. Check picture books sold by "Arizona Highways" Magazine or issued by master photographers David Muench or Jack Dykinga.

Regards

Low-quality scan of a landscape image taken with the P67 II + late 55 mm f/4 @ f/16.

Vertical framing, foreground anchor, tripod support, small lens opening to gain Depth-of-Field.
