Yes, em, it does get all golden.
I was by there yesterday and that is the way of it.
My only thought about the farmer is that s/he might have some light-weight grain from the areas that ripened first due to lack of water.
But it surely did make a picture that I liked with all its variation.
And thanks for your note on it!

Indeed, Mike, there is something peaceful and soothing about such fields.
Glad it was good for you.

Maybe you should do just that, Jer.
I certainly spent some time relaxing there!
Also spent some time getting all excited about the image-making, but I sure enjoyed the gentleness of the place--except for the intense wind that day!

Originally posted by ToddK Beautiful agriculture scene set against the trees as a backdrop. I grew up surrounded by wheatfields in rural Montana, but it was a much different panorama with wheat fields stretching about as far as the eye can see with no trees, just a big, blue sky.
What you describe is so typical of the wheat country. Beautiful in its own way!
My background in Oregon was somewhere between this scene and the one you describe.
This little pocket of a wheat field was a special sort of discovery.
This area, due to its seclusion, grows a lot of specialty "organic" products from small fields like this one.
Appreciate your note regarding your own experiences.
