Feeding on Salvia
Lens: DA* 300mm f4 Camera: K-3II Photo Location: Backyard Shutter Speed: 1/2500s Aperture: F5.6

A female Ruby-Throated Hummingbird was feeding on a salvia in my backyard. A male kept driving her off, but she was persistent.

Those are really sweet hummingbird shots. Great details and I love the colors you obtained. It always nice to see hummingbirds feeding on flowers. I haven't seen many around here yet. We've been having rain about every other day and its not been ideal for hummingbirds or butterflies.

Thanks Mike! This salvia sitting right below my rear porch finally became a target for the hummingbirds. We are very hot and very dry around here...

Nice work indeed, Todd. The first shot in particular is a beauty! You have done a good job of keeping the bird in focus at a 5.6 aperture!

Thank you Peter! I am really pleased with the ability of the DA* 300 to obtain and hold focus.
