Jumbo Restaurant in Hong Kong

I posted this last year in a POTW thread, but I just heard that it sank while being towed away somewhere (it was a floating restaurant that was a fixture in Aberdeen since the early seventies). Sad as it was a beautiful piece of Hong Kong history.

I read the article about it being towed away, but not about it sinking. I had hoped it could be relocated. Good shot. Gives me some perspective about its size and beauty.

Yes, I read about the sinking 2 days ago. Very sad. A iconic piece of Hong Kong History. Apparently it was being towed away because, due to covid-caused downturn in business, the owners were looking for a cheaper marina base. It struck bad weather, took on water, and sunk in waters over 1000m deep.

Nice pic, by the way. Definitely one to keep now.

That must have been spectacular. Did anyone get a shot of it?

Very nice image. It looks extremely top-heavy and would have been very unstable in anything more than calm water.

Wow! What a concept for a restaurant.
And what a picture of it!
Angky.
