Another shot of "Mad Max!"
Posted By: GLThorne, 03-14-2007, 03:27 PM

Since Max's debut was a hit, here's one I got today from "Mr. Personality"!

This was with the new Sigma.

Hope you enjoy this one as much.....

Mouse observing from the distance: "Uh-Oh, who's Max getting ready to pounce on this time" *shivers with fear*

MICE - BEWARE!!!

This is a great shot too

It looks like you are laying in the grass with him but also like he is looking over your shoulder/above you and not directly at the camera.
How do you accomplish this?
By the way, great shot.

Thanks guys for all the nice comments.

This was shot with my K100D and the Sigma 100-300F/4. I've got the APO EX DG version.

And to answer Clarence's question, I was lying in the grass with him. I actually locked myself out of the house through the garage but knew the back-door was open, so as I rounded the corner of the house, there he was. I dropped down about 10 feet from him and slightly to the right of him and got the first shot. What helped was that his sister, Mia, jumped up on the steps leading to our underhouse access and he looked up at her. I'm lucky in that our animals love the camera. They're all "hams!"

Nice shot!, cats are tough-they never do what you want and seem to move right when the shutter opens. Is that the lens in your signature photo?

Thanks!

That'd be the one! Worked on that just tonight as that's actually my camera & lens. Like it?

Wow! What a gorgeous picture!!! His eyes just pop out of the screen, his fur looks so soft and shiney, and the contrast between the black & the green is awesome.

So glad you posted another Mad Max portrait!

Thank you ma'am! When he spots be outside with the camera now, he comes running. Only thing, It was in the bag still when he saw me yesterday. Maybe this weekend will yeild another shot of max and Mia. Scooter's never to hard to find. Usually in the seat of one of our tractors, "observing" his lair.
