Mount Hayden, Point Imperial, North Rim of the Grand Canyon, ARIZONA.

This is the most beautiful viewpoint in Grand Canyon Nat'l Park. The North Rim is over 200 miles away from the South Rim by the road. Crowds are practically non-existent. One morning, I mounted my K3 + DA* 60-250 mm f/4 zoom on my tripod and varied the focal length from 60 to 250 mm @ f/9.

I camped just outside the Park at Lamotte Campground, where there is a convenience store on the other side of the road with gas, sandwiches and cold drinks. Heavens on Earth ...

Beautiful shots. I've only been to the North Rim once, many years ago. The extra miles coming from south of the canyon keeps people from making the drive. I'm thinking about a trip up to the Page area and might need to revisit up there. Thanks for posting.

Thank you all !

Images found in my 2018 Archives. The North Rim is the most beautiful part of Grand Canyon. It is quite remote and out of the way, so you have to make a "special journey" to go there. Just outside the Park, you find Lamotte campground and services, so staying there a few days is not a problem. There is a herd of bisons roaming free at the entrance of the Park. I always purchase an Annual Golden Eagle Pass for 80 $ at the first National Park I enter, so admittance doesn't cost anything after that. There is almost nobody in this part of the Park, you have all this splendor to yourself !

Regards
