Summer Tanagers Ruffled and Preening
Lens: Sigma 135-400 APO Camera: Pentax KP Photo Location: Yard ISO: 1250 Shutter Speed: 1/320s Aperture: F8

I captured several images of of this male Summer Tanager in a Hickory tree in my front yard. These show him ruffled and preening. Thanks for viewing.

I've never seen one of those birds in real life.
Brilliantly red, aren't they?
Love the first shot--all ruffled and fluffed up.

Thanks Angky. Too bad that you don't have these birds or Cardinals in your area. Their brilliant red colors due stand out. As always I got too many shots of the bird. I'd really like to get out west to see some beautiful vistas. Have a happy 4th.

Very nice work with this series. I really do enjoy bird images, however, I cannot seem to capture them here in our area. Thanks again.

Thanks Tony. Surprisingly, we have have had many colorful birds around this year. Took some image of the Indigo bunting just yesterday.
