Butterflies, Silvery Checkerspot and tattered Red Spotted Admiral
Lens: Sigma 135-400 APO Camera: Pentax KP Photo Location: Yard ISO: 800 Shutter Speed: 1/350s Aperture: F8

I went out looking for insects to photograph today. It was hot but I did find a couple. A Silvery Checkerspot BF and a rather ragged looking Red Spotted Admiral BF. Three images. Shutter speed was actually 1/400.

Very nice definitive images of these critters!
Glad to know that you can ID these; I certainly would not be able to do so.
Angky.

Thanks Angky. I actually rely a phone app to help identify the critters. Maybe I'll remember their names.

Thanks very much. One of the butterflies was so small that I had to crop the image a bit to show it.
