Thank you for viewing and commenting. The bunting shots were from Sunday. It was hot that day and now it's above 100 today. I have been quite lucky this year. I hope the heat spell doesn't run everything off.

Thanks Todd. I've been fortunate. The birds have been around my neighborhood or other close areas. I was able to get some nice shots of a a Green Heron recently at the nature preserve and a Mississippi Kite yesterday, that happened to land in a nearby tree. I haven't had time to go through and post the photos yet. The weather shas been hot and dry, over a 100 degrees here today.

Join the club. I saw on the local San Antonio news that the period April through June this year was the hottest on record since 1885. It has really affected my photography. I don't get out much in this weather, besides the fact that it is so dry, my usual places from last year are not very good.

My only possible contribution to this outstanding series is: What everyone else has reported, +10. Many thanks for sharing.

Thanks Jer. The perceived color of these birds varies based on available light. It does look best in bright light.

Thanks Tony. I'm glad you viewed and like the photos. I like the color of this bird. I was lucky to get shots of him at the top of the tree in good light.

Now that indeed does look "indigo" to me!
Makes one wonder how a bird can get such color!!!
Glad to see these shots of a bird I've never seen in real life.

Thanks Angky. In good light, the indigo color does come out. Every time that you note that it is a bird that you have not seen in real life, I look up the bird to see its range. This one and others often stop just short of California and the west coast. Makes me glad to post images of them.

I'm glad to see them!
For some reason the mountains of the west coast stop a lot of birds from coming over here.
But we do have a lot of unique views of our area's sights.
Keep posting!
