Red Line Express
~~~~~
A bus languishing under a full moon in the Southwestern desert in the U.S. I illuminated this bus during the camera exposure with a handheld light. I photographed with night photographer Tony Donofrio, overcoming horrible gridlock, camera malfunctions, and piercing my shoe with a nail to do so. Thankfully, it did not pierce the skin. I immediately put on steel shank boots after that! Thanks for looking!
Red lighting yields a completely different look as it contrasts more with the background. I like the hit and miss lighting of some of the elements in view. It makes them more noticeable. Nice capture. You may want to stay updated on your Tetanus shots.
Yeah, the light was from one of the windows. I never entered this bus because I was concerned about falling through the floor. Many are rusted or have gaping holes in them, and it's really easy to jack yourself up in the dark.
Thanks. And yeah, gotta stay up on those tetanus shots. Yeowwwww.....
Yeah, it's weird to think what is abandoned.
This is interesting....my night photographer friend - in fact, one of the Nightaxian guys from our video podcast - found the EXACT bus he used to ride as a kid abandoned some place within about an hour of his home!!!
Hello Ken,
Magnificent image, as usual. The only element missing would be a bright full moon in the driver's side window (easily added given your post-processing genius !). It would look a little "too lucky" maybe but it would surely add drama.
Regards, RICHARD
