I took both images with my new K3 III, the first image with the HD DA 16-85 mm ED WR @ 52,5 mm FL
and the second with the HD DA 55-300 mm ED WR @ 55 mm FL.
Both images are VERY SHARP. Is the K3 III the secret ???

Tough call - I'd have to say the top one... but both look really good. I'd have to see the RAWs and pixel peep to say for sure.

I can't tell sharpness between this images, but the bottom one appears to have allowed more light in.
Aperture open a stop more than the first one?
Angky.

The difference in sharpness is difficult to assess. There is a big difference in the brightness and contrast of the shots. The tree bark in the first image is more discernable. Not quite a direct comparison. Each image looks good. Which one reflects the more true color?

THX !!

The upper image was taken in July when the leaves are completely open all over the Maple tree. The second image was taken in Spring when leaves begin to shoot and there still is some "voids" here and there in the canopy. It's true light is never the same and that changes the "overall" aspect of the scene but both images were taken right after rain when the sun shone for a few minutes. The color of the leaves is more "intense" in the first image with leaves getting more mature while in the second picture were new, recently open leaves. So, many factors influencing the final result but even if I peruse the images at high magnification, they both remain "deliciously" sharp !!

Best Regards

I have the 16-85. The lens is excellent.
