I always enjoy watching Red Bellied Woodpeckers feeding their young birds. The young ones are almost as big as the parents.

Great subject matter. The type of thing I aspire to capture and lack the time and patience to capture.

Superb wildlife series, Mike. I am impressed as to how that KP with the Sigma APO controlled the CA with a dark subject/s and bright background. A lot of enjoyment in this captures.

Thank you. These feeders are right off of our back deck. Filling them with sunflower seeds brings in the birds and other wildlife and often gives us the opportunity to view these types of interactions. Of course, in open feeders like these, the squirrels and raccoons get more than their share of feed.

Thanks Angky. It is fascinating to watch these interactions. In this case it seems funny to me as the young woodpeckers are virtually the same size as the adults and are still learning how to eat and swallow the feed.

Thank you Tony. I have been happy with this camera and lens combo in most cases. It does have limitations when the light is not quite bright enough to use higher shutter speeds. To get that, I would have to bite the bullet and buy much more expensive equipment. Glad that you enjoyed the images.
