Sunflower Haven
Lens: HD-DA 55-300 Camera: K-70 Photo Location: My garden fence ISO: 100 Aperture: F8

I think I made a mistake with my sunflowers last-summer-to-this-summer. I expected most to be around six to eight feet tall.
I suspect some cross-pollination of some kind since most of them overtopped 12 feet (two reached almost sixteen feet)!

One produced a large seed head and then surrounded it with a "frame" of six--sort of like a crown of glory for the "old guy".
The second shot shows a helper. He's trying to keep my sunflowers from taking over my place next summer.
Angky.

Thanks, em.
The "contrasting colors" I don't usually think about, so I'm glad you mention it.

Very nice shots. That first one has great colors and contrast and is arrayed in an interesting and balanced pattern. The second is nicely composed, has good detail and nice Bokeh.

Thank you for your fine appreciated assessment.
The first shot was one I just could not pass up--perfect balance naturally with just the right amount of interesting imbalance to make it believable.
I heard today that there are beautiful red-headed birds pecking at my sunflowers, so I guess I'll have to look for a shot of one of those.

A very well thought out, planned and executed nature series. Nothing to not fall in love with and many thanks for sharing.

Thank you, Tony!
I was really pleased with how well the features of the images just "set themselves up" for a good photograph.
