Back home and went through more shots from the trip. I posted most of the good ones, but found these as well.

That's a beautiful heron shot. How is the 150-450 + k3-iii working for you? I have the KP and I am on the fence between getting the 150-450 or just buying the k3-iii and use it with the 300 DA* + teleconverter.

Pretty good pickings from the leftovers. Nice shots of the Great Blue Heron and the insect populous. Glad you didn't get rained out.

Terrific shots, particularly the heron in flight. Good work!

I have a Sigma 150-500 for Pentax. They did not make the Pentax 150-450 when I purchased it. I found the switch to super telephoto to be very helpful.

Thank you. I love the combination. I don't know enough about the KP to give a comparison. I went from a K70 to the K3-III which was a huge leap. the 300 DA* is a really nice lens. I had one but sold it as I didn't use it enough. The only thing to remember with the 150-450 is it's a beast of a lens compared to the 300. The super telephoto lenses are really a big help. I had a Sigma 170-500 before this one and even though I don't think the IQ was quite as good as the 300, I used it more for the reach.

Thank you. The trip started really wet but ended very nice. I would have liked to have gotten back into the wildlife area near there but almost getting stuck in the mud made me rethink it. Now I head to Blue Ridge Reservoir in 3 weeks.

I would agree they're a big help

First look and I was really impressed by the under-side-shot of that heron.
Then I see that everybody else thought the same!
Angky.
