A hike on the Grand Canal outside Dublin
Lens: HD PENTAX-DA 16-85mm F3.5-5.6 ED DC WR Camera: K-5 Photo Location: Grand Canal, Dublin

The weather in Dublin the last couple of days has been fantastic. Yesterday my wife and I went for a hike along the Grand Canal a few miles west of Dublin. Lots of butterflies, few people. Beautiful scenery in a historic location. I brought only my K-5 and DA 16-85mm as I was trying to keep the weight down. I definitely missed the K-1!

Thanks for looking.

You may have missed the K-1, but the K-5 performed admirably. Great and interesting scenic shots, great shots of the Cygnets, and excellent captures of the Peacock butterfly and of the moth and bumblebee. All shots are properly exposed and have good details and colors. What more could you want?

All are good shots, but I really like the butterfly, bee and moths. I always like seeing other parts of the world.

Nice images. I also have the Pentax 16-85 lens. It is excellent.

Your K-1 would not have been any happier with that 16-85 lens than your K-5 was.
Very excellent images! And the lighter weight allowed for happier hiking and more great shots.

Thanks for all the positive comments!

The K-5 with the 16-85 is indeed a great combo. In fact, I felt a little guilty when I bought my K-1 as the 16-85 was still fairly new at the time and I felt I was being disloyal to a lens that had treated me well!
