Southern Coal Skink stalks a Common Wood-Nymph butterfly
Lens: Sigma 50-150 APO HSM Camera: Pentax KP Photo Location: Yard ISO: 320 Shutter Speed: 1/200s Aperture: F6.3

A few days ago, I observed a skink on the side of a tree. It was staring intently at a butterfly feeding on sap from the tree. The skink was actually stalking the butterfly in a futile attempt to catch it. I took two photos while it stalked the butterfly and one after it's failed attempt. I missed the photo of the actual strike.
