Excellent Morning!- Heron
Lens: Pentax DA* 60-250mm Camera: K-3 III Photo Location: Dogtown Lake, AZ

It was crystal clear, only enough clouds in the sky to give me a really nice sunrise. I spent about 4 hours on the water before the clouds started rolling in, which was forecast. I didn't spend much time on the herons today, but I really like the colors on these in flight shots and the reflection due to the calm water.

Thank you. I really liked the surroundings. Normally, I like the bright light on them, but this time I really liked these more in the shadows.

Thank you. They're one of the oddest birds, they can range from looking graceful to ungainly so quickly. I think that's why I like them as a subject.

Perfect lighting!
And, as you said, the colors really do work!
All of this really supports the dynamic presentation of the bird landiing.
Angky.

These are quite good images. It's extraordinary to see the manner in which they fly, apparently using their extended neck and legs for balance. The water reflections are almost ghostly like an impressionist painting. Well captured.

Thank you. I think the reflections really add to the shots

You've been on a roll with the shots you're posting! Really nicely done stuff.

Obviously, you and the K3III are becoming fast friends.
