Picture of my "benchmark" Batiscan River in autumn robe. Pentax K3 + FA 28 mm f/2.8 AL + CPL. The leaves of Hardwoods are slowly turning yellow and red but Autumn colors last for less than 2 weeks. We rarely see sunshine for more than 2 days a week, so you have to move fast to get any good pictures during this short window of opportunity.

Beautiful shot, Richard. Here, it easy to go too early or too late. Dry conditions can limit fall colors and stormy weather can strip the leave even at their peak. Good luck on getting your fall shots.

My FA line of prime lenses performs really well on my K1 and K3s. You can acquire them for very reasonable prices, they are AF and have all the automation you can wish for, modern SMC coatings and Aspherical or ED lens elements. This FA 28 mm f/2.8 AL delivers particularly sharp and contrasty images. On APSC, it affords a Field-of-View similar to the 43 mm on FF. A truly remarkable optic.

Fall colors will be at their peak around October 10th. Let's hope we have sunshine and not too much wind.
