Azorean landscape
Posted By: ftpaddict, 12-21-2008, 07:41 AM

This is my first attempt at making a panorama image. It was taken between two rounds of heavy rainfall while I was on foot and nowhere near civilization. That was a fun day.

Stitched together with Hugin.

Thanks for looking.

Dan,

I agree with Dave - lush greens and very appealing. It's very similar to the green of NZ!

Do you have any similar perspectives of the area?

Regards,
Marc

Nice shot. I spent 15 months on Terceira (US Air Force). Which one of the islands was this taken on?

Thanks. I spent my two weeks on São Miguel. I'd love to visit all the other islands.

There is. Quite a lot, in fact. Cows love eating the landscape just as much as we enjoy looking at it.

Sadly I have not had much chance of sightseeing. You can find other pictures of the island on my weblog. (latest 2 entries)

Thank you, everybody. Next time I'm going there, I'm packing a tripod to do more/better panoramic shots. It's totally worth it.

As it happens my family is from Sao Miguel. Wonderful landscapes abound. If you go to higher ground in the mornings you can see the clouds float by under a sea of blue. Did I mention I like your landscape? Wonderful!

Some day soon, I shall return. A few years ago I had a site with many photos from Sao Miguel, but since the kids came along, I let it lapse. Soon I will post some so you and listers can have look-see. But this is your hour, my friend.
