to Illinois after these pics.

We recently had quite an ice storm. While it's quite pretty, driving is also quite hazardous.

I'm going to try to capture the sun sparkling off of the ice covered trees as well. As I said, quite pretty.

The first two shots really rock. The crispy nature of the shots stand out!

Very cool shots - in more ways than one. I spent my childhood in Illinois and remember ice storms well.

The first two are awesome. Nicely done. Think I'll stay in the south a while longer though.

Very nice series. This weather provides some great Photo opportunity but makes life hard and dangerous. I drove through the aftermath of the great ice storm in Ontario and Quebec several years ago. Incredible to see a city of 2 million (Montreal) completely in the dark. Something out of a horror/action movie.

Thanks for the nice comments everyone. I didn't get a chance to get any shots of the trees covered in ice today. Hopefully tomorrow. It's actually breathtakingly beautiful as the sun hits the ice. It shimmers like the best cut diamond. I hope it comes out as well in pics. Beautiful but deadly I must say though. Causes power outages as well as many car wrecks. The branches are so covered with ice here that the limbs are breaking off.

Couldn't quite get the sparkle I was looking for, but this one gives you a good idea of what the trees look like here.
