Interesting place. It reminds me somewhat of the waste piles of low grade ore at a mine that I worked at. Is it a natural formation? Thanks for sharing. Good capture.

Excellent composition! Your low perspective to the road/trail along with the low angle of the sunlight added a lot of contrast and texture in the foreground as well as leading the eye up onto the cinder cone. Lassen NP is a geologist's dream.
