New Smoke Over An Old Burn
Lens: HD-DA 55-300 Camera: K-70 Photo Location: High Sierra Nevada Mtns ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/20s Aperture: F13.5

The landscape is a burn from a wildfire three or four years ago.
The smoke is from a current fire choking this part of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
The image is stark, making it interesting in a grim way.
Perhaps that can make for a good photographed image.
And, yes, all but possibly one or two small trees in this image are dead! The grass and the flowering weeds are all that are alive.
Nevertheless, regardless of what makes a good photograph, I would wish that people--the igniters of both fires--could sorta "feel" the grief of this kind of thing!
Would that we would all respect and preserve what we've been given!

I like to see the beauty in nature and to share that with you folks.
This time, with my apologies, my camera shows the grimmer side.
Angky.

Thanks for taking the time to explain the scene we are viewing. Despite the reasons for this view, it resulted in a very good image. Stark, but with hints of regrowth despite the lingering smoke. Shooting these scenes is often not pleasant but thank you for posting them. This is a well composed shot depicting the actual.conditions in this area.

Thank you, Mike, especially for mentioning the good composition (something I am struggling to improve in all of my images).
And I'm glad that you can appreciate the posting and my reason for doing so.
Thanks again.

Thank you, friend Jer!
I'm glad that you were able to "touch-in" to the feelings of the image.
