Some shots by Pentax-A 400mm f5.6
Posted By: dsport, 12-21-2008, 06:34 PM

Bringing out my 400mm for birding few days ago.
However, I was too useless and only just a few shots for birds
If I have money, I would get a AF 600mm, bit this was really a dream
All shots by handheld with K20D.
Comments wellcome.
Merry X'mas.

My friend also a Pentax K10D user was using a Tamron SP300mm MF + 2X converter on that day

Thanks
That was not my dog. But you was right, I was bored for holding a 400mm without chance to get closer for birds

Thats all
Really hopes Pentax could produce a super tele as stated in lens roadmap. I don't mind even if Pentax AF is not working faster than then the Nikon and Canon because I enjoy using Pentax gears
If Sigma is going to produce a 300mm f2.8 SDM, I would also consider it with a 2X

Some very good shots. The birds in flight, the last one of your friend and particularly the butterfly are favourite shots.

I like the safety fence, not something I would think would make a compelling photo, but you've pulled it off.

Of course you must mean close up shots of birds, because, the shots here are pretty good overall, especially those silhouettes with the birds.

Thanks.
The lights and colors attracted me, thus stopping to take the pic. If I stayed longer, may be I could take a few more, but my friend was not waiting for me

Thanks for your very nice comments.
I have to admit that I am a little bit aggressive, really want to take some close up shots.

Your work has a style of its own. So much mood infused in each one of them. Great use of this under-rated lens

That is the best use of the safety fence I have seen. Would never have seen that shot... Just goes to show what I see...
I like how you capture what your see of your world, even if the birds did not happen that day.

Hey your friend with the K10... what monopod is that? It looks nice and beefy.
