A Study in Tree Bark in Soft Light
Lens: HD Pentax DA 16-85mm Camera: K-70 Photo Location: Rollins Lake Area ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/8s Aperture: F8
Posted By: angkymac, 09-19-2022, 05:26 PM

The light suddenly changed from harsh, bright, hot sunlight to diffused cloudy light.
These young pine tree boles stood right out boldly in their sternly straight pose.
But, as youngsters, their bark has not yet fully developed its future cragginess.
Very boldly they stood there--precocious young sentries standing high above all the other vegetation.
The lighting--side-light on a round column--never fails to initiate a shutter release!
Angky.

Thank you!
I'm glad you shared that; I did put a lot of work to get just the "righ" background.

I agree that the background provides good contrast and makes the tree boles stand out. Nice shot.

Thank you, Mike!
Seems the background attracts more attention than the subject!
Guess I still have some learning to do!

Not really. The contrasting background makes the subject stand out prominently.

Very nice! I like the textures and patterns of the bark, and you did such a great job of describing it!

I went back and re-read the description to see what you were talking about.
I couldn't recall doing such a great thing in the description.
But it does say what I was feeling.
Thanks for the note!
Angky.
