I *think* this is a Red-Shouldered Hawk. Our small cul-de-sac sees a lot of raptor action.

I think you are right on that ID. That's a pretty capture of the hawk. Your cul-de-sac must have some prey attracting them.

Good picture of the hawk.
I'm a bit intrigued with the bokeh produced by the DA300 lens.
I think I'll take mine out in speckled backlight and see how it produces those round light spots; that might be a good background for some shots.

Tons of chipmunks, squirrels, and I think they eyeball our mini-dachshunds. We def have these guys and cooper’s
