Good shots of something that brings back some loathsome memories!
I've never seen tarantulas on the west coast, but sure do have some memories of them from when I spent several months at a training camp near Dallas, Texas!

Thanks, Angky. I'll bet you did see them in Texas. They are more plentiful there than here. It's the mating season.

Thank you for viewing. This one is the Texas Brown Tarantula. They can bite, but the bite is pretty much equivalent to a bee sting. They are more creepy looking than dangerous. They are out now for mating season.

Terrific captures Mike. I have seen a few of them moving about the past several days. I believe they are males out looking for nesting females.

Thanks, Todd. This is the time of year for mating. In previous years, these guys were a common site in the fall, not so much anymore. More people less Tarantulas.
