Only one? No fair!

I've taken quite a few portraits that I really like, but always seem to go back to this one. What I liked about this shot is that it was totally unplanned. It was taken with a combination of natural light and some really good (lucky) timing.

So hard to narrow this down.... snapped with the K20D and DA* 50-135mm 2.8 lens @ 1/160 sec, F/4, iso 100, 95mm. A wirelessly triggered AF-540 flash behind a shoot-thru umbrella was camera right. The light stand and photographer were also in the water.

After much hemming and hawing I had to pick this one. It's uncropped and untouched other than cloning out a patch of black in the upper left corner, and it's from the first roll of B&W film I had exposed in nearly 20 years. And like Alan's above, a combination of the right natural light and some luck on the timing helped make it happen.

Natural light + gold reflectors. Maybe I overdid the highlights a bit? =x
