Bird shots

Hi Friends,

Every one of them good. Specially the one about two Birds on the Bird feeder and the one with many sitting and chirping on a branch with a couple onflight, I see a lot of energy and good timing.
Thanks,
Kris

This is beautiful =) probably some pp work is in order to make the sky look more interesting? I just love how the birds looks like they're really gliding effortlessly and the sky is probably the only missing element.

Taken with the DA50-200. I am no birder, and this outing was my first attempt at BIFs. A couple shots were better focused but I just loved the gull's pose in this one. Imagine my disappointment when I zoomed in and noticed a small detail...

Not spectacular, but these are some of my first birds ever...

This is a good candidate. I like the colours and how the fairly busy background emphasises the bird's camouflage plumage.

Or this. Both K100D Super, Sigma 70-300

Not my best, but most unusual and many days and hours waiting paid off. Taken with tamron 300mm f2.8 and 1.4x TC manual focus handheld. (my wife thinks it's nasty)
Aha, so they are not doing it in the air then

I probably like this one the best. K10D and Bigma.
So that is what a flying fish looks like?
Impressive shot!

unlikely bird lenses

I'm not a bird shooter with a few exceptions. So when this happens it is with unlikely bird lenses.

A*135/1.8 with a MC7 2x converter on the K20D, cropped.

DA*50-135/2.8 on K20D with built in flash, had to remove red eyes on the kid birds in post processing! This is in a very dark replica of an iron age house shooting towards the sound of the hungry kids without seeing the nest.

.

I don't know, I'm not good at the bird shots, unless they're really big, slow, easy
birds:

Or would rather walk than fly:

You guys are really good at getting these active shots though, hope to learn how to do it
someday.

So many incredible bird shots here. I love woof's shot with the crows, chirpy's grebe, gawan's seagulls, and the two bluebirds fighting, along with too many others to mention.
