Medium Format Photo Entry - Mordor
Lens: HD Pentax-DA 645 28-45mm f/4.5 Camera: Pentax 645D Photo Location: Challaborough, Devon UK ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/30s Aperture: F14

Devon, UK has some very interesting beaches, some sand, some ... craggy rocks.
This was taken in Challaborough Bay, Devon, just around the corner from a holiday park. Not actual Mordor. Promise ;-)
This a 3 part HDR exposure times were actually 1/5-1/80th of a second at f/14

The very essence of Mordor--with the distant eye ever searching!
Wonderful detail in the dark rocky harshness.

Mordor indeed! (Although, for a fleeting moment, it also evoked the idea of a moon landscape - until we took in the clouds etc!). A very well-composed and effective photograph.

This clever image was driving me a bit bonkers - I saw it in the contest first, before seeing your explanation here. My brain was telling me the lighting was all wrong - thanks for sharing how you did it.
