Looks like that hoverfly is quite intimidated by the rose thorn!
Very good capture of the critter!
The light and shadow just right!

A unique capture of the Hoverfly. The light on the Hoverfly displays it very well. Great focus.

There were quite a few Hoverflies around yesterday because of the Aphids, not sure why?

Some hoverfly larvae eat aphids. They are a gardener's best friend. This adult was likely looking to lay some eggs. Great photo!
