What a difference shutter speed makes!
Lens: 150-450 Camera: Pentax KP Photo Location: Stratford ON ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/25s Aperture: F10

What a difference a slower shutter speed makes! This pair was treading water to feed on weeds below the fast water. The faster shutter is a sharp as sharp can be, but slowing it down makes the water a lot less distracting, and the ducks were stationary enough to pull it off. If I had an ND with me I'd have slowed the shutter down a bit more, though 1/25 was maybe already pushing it a bit with a 150-450 on a monopod

Great captures at that shutter speed. Rich colors and good details. I like both images. The shutter speed in the second capture must have been slower, as the water is much smoother.

That was the plan - the first one (fast shutter) was mostly for contrast, I was playing with the new rig, seeing how slow I could go and still get a workable image. Turns out, pretty slow!

Silky flowing water is sometimes a bit boring. But with an excellent object, as these ducks are, the silky water really sets them up!
Great "experiment". I like what it shows.
Angky.
