Yesterday was a break in the storm cycle here in N. California, so I got out in the mountains. Here's the first in a JIMBO sized series...

That's a very nice shot. The foireground tree is good anchor for the overall scene.

Thanks Jimbo. The shot's not really "oversharpened" - when you look at it 1:1 it doesn't have halos or other artifacts, but I think the snow on the wet branches gives it that look.

Thanks to you too Steve. I'll definitely have to get a print, maybe hang it under the Ansel Adams print it sort of imitates.

I know the Adams image you are referring to. I made the association as soon as I saw your post. Yours is different, but brings out many of the same attributes of the subject.
