Very ominous. I'm a sucker for good high contrast black and white work so this is right up my alley. Almost feels lovecraftian, beware what lurks beneath the waves

A very "severe" panorama of the sea overruled by the lighthouse.

Appreciate the feedback. It was a dark and stormy night, even the crabs were hunkered down....

Thanks for feedback; I presume the adjective "Angky" has positive connotations!

Thanks for feedback; rain, clouds, strong off-shore breeze, waves pounding shore line....visual options were pre-destined!

Well, yes, it does have positive connotations.
It's actually not an adjective, but is my name as it is translated into the language of a small tropical island.
I frequently am addressed as "Angky", though in English it sounds a bit strange.

That can't work, actually!
Actually I have never really been able to formally learn art.
Am barely starting into the digital age--very late. For many years I just carried a camera around a lot.
Am learning a great deal from the good people on this site.
Keep inputting your images and comments on people's great images--I'll continue learning from that!

I'd be interested to see what your initial exposure(s) were. Your choices certainly made for a cinematic image.

I do not know how many folks in your lineage ( Angky) or family tree or for whom asking Oxford Dictionary to include "angky" as an adjective would be problematic; but I personally LOVE the idea!

Matthew,
It was stormy, very windy, I did not have monopod or tripod in use, so went with fast shutter speed (1/160), ISO 1600, f11.0, 135mm ( pentax da 55-300).
Thanks! Tony
