Whatever that line in the foreground is is interesting because it has a dark core below the leaf but is pure light above.

I like the angle you took this from, it's just right to get this dynamic view of the bug. Lower angle would have obscured the subject and higher diminished the impact of being able to see all the legs and wings etc. separately.

Yes it was a small thin twig that was in front of the Paper Wasp but was out of focus.
