There's this ferry which leaves a few times daily, crossing the Haifa Bay area to take travelers/commuters between Haifa and Akko. It's only been operating since 2016 and is operated by a private company so it doesn't get a lot of public attention. The crossing takes only 50 minutes or so, which compares favorably to the train mainly because the trainstation is located on the outskirts of Akko requiring a bus ride to the center whereas the ferry docks in the marina which is smack in the middle of downtown.
We were lucky with the weather, a bit choppy and hard to stand and shoot but I used TAv on this series to ensure both shutter speed and aperture stayed up where I wanted them. With arrival into the main port of Haifa, light was fading very fast so I let ISO get up to 6400 - doing some NR in post.
Departure from Akko was in the golden hour (which lasts only about 20 minutes at this latitude TBH)
When out in the open bay area, light starts fading fast as the sun drops towards the horizon:
And upon approachin Haifa port, the lights across town have come on fo a bit of dramatic emphasis:
Until the ferry docks behind a huge cargo vessel:
An we can disembark and look back for a last glance:
