Yeah, this is sunset on a football oval in a country town with the Yarra Ranges in the background!

It had been a hot and sunny day but it was worth the wait. Anyone with a 'real' camera was permitted access on the ground, everyone else had to stay outside the fenceline.

Wow, this is a terrific shot clackers! Getting that close in provided an entirely different perspective of the balloon and action at the basket. I really like the color contrast between the warm colors of the balloon and the blues in the background.

This is colorful image taken at near dusk. You caught the action and the bright hot air balloon stands out against the blue backdrop. Great capture.

Thanks, Todd, imagine if I'd had to take that shot from behind the distant fence?

The framing would've been the same with a longer lens, but the details wouldn't be there.

Thanks, Mike, imagine if I'd done a black and white conversion?

I'd be throwing away the advantage of the post sunset's 'blue hour'.
