During the summer I try at least once go to the bog for overnight. Then I can shoot both sunset and sunrise and as the summernights in Estonia are short, the twilight lasts practically from dusk 'til dawn. Sometimes it means shooting from last to first light and after that sleepless night I feel like being zombie in next day.
In that occasion 2,5 years ago I went to Nigula Nature Reserve in south-west Estonia and took along my new Pentax 645N film camera with Kodak Tmax 100 film loaded. That photo wasn't taken in the bog but long after sunrise of the opposite shore of the Nigula lake. After developing the film and slight postprocessing that photo kept me turning back to look at it again and again but it took several days before I accepted the photo and started to see its beauty. Now I consider it as one of my best landscape photos shot on film. | |
