Thanks Julie! The Kookaburra is a very silly sounding bird too! Actually, with that huge Kingfisher bill, I always thought that they looked kind of aggressive, but they are a much loved part of the Australian bush. There's another species up north called the Blue-Winged Kookaburra which has an even stranger call; it sounds a bit crazy! The tropical heat can do that to you.
