Very fascinating way to depict this revered old building.
I'm intrigued by the old millstone (?) presented in front of it.

In its time, the Old Flour Mill had a "Water Wheel" (just as in Medieval Europe) actuated by the flow of the little Black River on its left side. This renewable-energy "Engine" could turn cogs inside the building and finally, drive the "Grinding Stone" that crushed Wheat, Barley and Oats grain into flour. All this power mechanism was entirely made of square pieces of wood. The "Grinding Stone" was constructed with pieces of stone quarried, cut and fashioned into triangular shapes so as to fit inside an iron circular band that held the round assembly together. The square hole in the middle received the final driving wooden shaft transmitting the power of the Water Wheel to the stone. Our French Ancestors were quite inventive and their know-how permitted them to survive and prosper in Canada's unforgiving conditions.
