Well, maybe not a picnic, but perhaps a snowball fight? Nice photo!

Nice pretty and clean snowfall captured in brilliant light. A very pretty scene, Richard, but not for a picnic. Nice shooting.

Horizontal lines of ice and snow from top to bottom.
Quite an interesting pattern there--and broken up with the sticks of dormant bush.
A shot worth taking!

THX !

This new HD DFA lens proved to be very sharp in far-away compositions. Now I will have to try it on close-ups.

Regards

If you find yourself disappointed with it on close-ups, be sure to post the failures!
I have been amazed at its capabilities every time I put it on the camera--close and far.
The only possible "failure" it might have is its very shallow depth of field. But being a macro lens that makes very good sense.
Let us know what you think of it on some macro work.

If you are going to have fun with it, I could offer this as a fun option--

Along with the veggies, try some things that test its ability to handle resolution along the edges.
Of course, being a macro lens, it is a flat-field lens, so it has to be put through the tough paces with that in mind.

I'm no good at testing lenses rigorously. But everything I've shot with that lens has impressed me favorably.
But you might have some enjoyment in putting it through the tough stuff--you know how to do that better than I.
And it might be fun for us to see what you find out.

Just chatting here, since I've seen you testing so many lenses and have enjoyed seeing what you've found.
Just for fun...
Angky.

No warmers, just kidding, Norm. I just found the scene very appealing and I was testing my new HD DFA 100 mm macro.
