I went around yesterday while the freezing rain was still coming down and got myself and the camera a little wet, but it was worth it. The beauty of the ice on some of the grasses and trees is stunning, particularly the crape myrtle which are the first two images.

Those are beautiful and impressive shots from the ice storm. The coating of ice in our area was much less than you had. I suspect that south Arkansas had major ice accumulations. There were widespread power outages in south Arkansas overnight and early this morning. I'm glad that you captured the beauty of the ice and hope it didn't cause too much damage.

Gorgeous, Todd! I remember the aftermath of some ice storms when I was living in lower Michigan... ethereally beautiful -- especially in sunlight -- but oh, so dangerous and damaging. Impressive images, good work!

Thanks Mike. It was nice not having to go anywhere for the few days of ice, so other than some downed tree branches, we came out of it unscathed.

Thank you Jer! I was blown away by the way the ice formed on things.

Thanks so much Julie! Ice is so much worse than snow.

The shape of the crepe myrtle twigs, with residual fruiting scales allowed the ice to look like a chandelier decoration.
Very beautiful!
